Student Supports

There are many support services available to all students to help them feel safe, connected and valued in Adamstown Community College. We have a strong pastoral care team which include tutors who meet their tutor class daily for a check-in as well as the year head who works alongside the tutor to support all students in the year. Additionally, many of our Senior Management Team and teachers are trained in restorative practice which focuses on positive relationships which contribute to positive mental health.

Students who may need extra support can avail of our Guidance Department for personal and career guidance. Along with the teaching staff, our Special Needs Assistants also support our students on a daily basis.

In Adamstown Community College, we believe that peer-to-peer support is a very important part of student wellbeing. Our Cara Aires are a group of senior students who are Wellbeing Ambassadors who plan different events to support the rest of the students’ wellbeing throughout the year. Additionally, the TY Mentors help our first year students throughout the year as they settle into secondary school and become part of a new community.

Below is a list of supports that students can avail of separate to the school. We also have a School Guidance Website and Guidance Twitter Page that offers lots of advice for students with regular updates.
