Leaving Certificate 2020 - Exam Postponement

By Aidan on 14/04/2020

To all our Sixth Year students and parents / guardians,

Coping with exam postponement, looking after oneself whilst embracing the challenge ahead!

In light of the most recent announcement and as with all decisions, some of you will feel this decision is the best option and others will feel it is the worst. Either way, we now know what is ahead of us.

This most recent challenge now highlights more than ever the importance of connection, reaching out for support and minding your mental health during this time. Please find organisations offering information and support at the  Guidance Website .

Most importantly remember,  we are all here to support and help you get over this final hurdle. If anyone needs to get in touch just send an email or complete the form below and we will get back to you.

All our best wishes,

The Guidance Department

Wellbeing and Covid-19

This week would have been our Wellbeing Week in Adamstown Community College. As we prepare for the Easter break, please read through the information and links on the this document for recommendations on how we can look after ourselves and our mental health during this time.

Our TY Mentors have also been busy preparing some fun activities for students to take up over Easter. Why not use this time to learn a new skill?

The student contribution for 2020/21 is due.

By Aidan on 02/04/2020

The office in the school is closed at the moment due to the restrictions set down by the government. Parents are asked to please pay their contribution of €100 for next year as soon as possible. Payments should be made via our MIT system which is accessed through the website. This money is used to cover the cost of a locker, a school journal, photocopying, insurance cover for the pupil, swipe card, credit on the student’s swipe card for photocopying, contribution to the cost of bus hire for extra curricular activities, text messaging, VSware, Anseo, etc.

For students who will be doing State Examinations in June 2021 there is a Mock Examination Fee of €100 in place of the contribution. The fee covers the cost of the purchase of mock papers and the correction of mock scripts as well as the items listed above.

Parents of those students who will be doing Transition Year, next year, need to ensure that the full payment of the Transition Year fee is made before the 1st June 2020.

Please note that the school is not in a position to supply the above mentioned services to students where the contribution has not been made.

If there is any difficulty making payment please engage with the school. A payment plan can be put in place.
